Cameron is a former City of Melville Councillor and current Junior President of the Applecross Cricket Club and Executive member of the Community Junior Cricket Council (CJCC). Cameron was heavily involved in the development of Shirley Strickland Reserve and has subsequently continued his association with the Cricket Club there.

Mark is CEO Telethon Speech and Hearing Institute and he’ll be talking about teaching kids with little or no hearing, how to read. Deafness is endemic in children from the Eastern Wheatbelt.  

Most of the deafness is technically preventable so even if we can start reducing the numbers with poor hearing, there remains the challenge of working with those kids who are already deaf, who need to learn to read.
