Belinda Provis has been the principal of All Saints’ College for over ten years and prior to this was principal of Seymour College in Adelaide for almost a decade. Keen to empower and give agency to young people, Belinda is committed to providing a responsive, progressive and values-driven education in which all students feel visible and optimistic about the future.

Jenn Hammond is the Executive Director and Hannah Stapleton the Operations Coordinator - Australia for Living Child Inc.

The focus of Living Child's work is in the villages that make up the Keram River area of East Sepik Province in Papua New Guinea. These villages are extremely remote, and face many challenges to access health services and skilled professionals.

Living Child provide health training, health promotion, and health equipment to advance sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health in the Greater sepik region of papua new guinea

This will be a combined meeting of Applecross, Melville and Canning River Rotary Clubs.

Pat is a member of the Rotary Club of Rockingham. She has two adult children and six grandchildren! Pat is a retired Human Resources Manager having worked most of her career in the mining industry.  She currently holds board position on Australian Rotary Health and Midway Community Services. 

Chris will talk about the differences between life in Central Africa and Australia in the 1950's, and then how his life unfolded in boarding school.

Accessing Child Care is something that needs to be understood in the context of modern life in the 21 century where having both parents working is essential for most people in making any progress financially and achieving the great Australian dream of owning a home, or some other goal.   Importantly, subsidised Child Care should not be only available to those who earning high salaries.  But can we afford to open it up to everyone?

Helen Creed moved to Perth in 1977, as a social worker, working in the childcare sector. 

In 1985, Helen started work with the Miscellaneous Workers’ Union (‘the Misso’s) as an organiser for child care, that also covered teacher assistants. Her social work background really fitted into that very well and she made a long term commitment around community-based children's services, with an interest in policy. 

Niki Ferreira is a senior Pharmacist with the WA Department of Health.  Some of our long term members will remember Niki from when she was a student member of Applecross Rotary, through the John Curtin Leadership Academy, and she stayed on as a full member of Rotary including serving two years as our Club Secretary. 

As well as returning to speak to us on another topic related to racing: “Are jockeys a necessary evil”, Dr Peter Symons is going to judge the ‘best’ dress-up to mark the annual occasion when all of Australia allegedly stops for 5 minutes, on the first Tuesday in November.
