🌅 SOCIAL SUNDOWNER AT TOMPKINS
Our October Sundowner was originally planned to be held at President Margaret’s home, but with the recent passing of her mum, our thoughts and condolences go out to Marg and her family ❤️
We’ll instead gather back at Tompkins on Swan for this month’s get-together.
A new date will be set later for the President’s Sundowner.
đź“… Date: Thursday 30 October
đź• Time: 5:30pm onwards (stay on for dinner if you wish)
📍 Venue: Tompkins on Swan, Tompkins Park, Melville
It’s a great spot for a relaxed evening before the rush of JacFest!
All guests welcome.
🌸 TALKING JACARANDA FESTIVAL…
Less than six weeks to go until our 25th Anniversary Jacaranda Festival!
There’s plenty happening behind the scenes as publicity steps up and preparations accelerate.
🔹 Promotion & Publicity
Market Life is running our main promotional campaign to its large social media audience in the lead-up to the event.
Our promo is featured in the Rotary WA Events Weekly Mailout.
WeekendNotes (100,000+ subscribers) and Have a Go News are both promoting JacFest through their websites and social channels.
The City of Melville has been asked to include our event in its ratepayer newsletter.
Capital Radio coverage and Club Sponsor mailouts are scheduled for the final few weeks.
🔹 Posters, Brochures & Signage
Newly designed posters and brochures are ready for distribution — volunteers are needed to help with this and the final newsletter drop to Village traders.
Updated street signs go up in the Village next weekend.
Road signs (four on Canning Highway and two on Riseley Street) will appear two weeks before the Festival.
Our team has completed a signage review — some outdated signs will be retired, and new 25-Year Celebration branding will be displayed proudly across the event site.
After 25 years, JacFest almost promotes itself — but as the saying goes,
“Use it or lose it” still applies in the busy world of community events!
👥 ROTARY MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
Keep an eye out for an exciting District Membership Incentive aimed at boosting Rotary membership across WA.
President Marg will share details soon.
Cheers,
