The Perth Makers Market car parking management continues to be one of the key fund-raising activities for Applecross Rotary. As of the end of 2022, we have taken over $116,000 in donations since 2016. We continue to work on how we can improve the setup and breakdown, the donation collections, advertising and effective use of our Marquee. We are also looking at how we can engage other volunteers to assist, and Sailing On is one group who we are hoping to bring into the fold this year. If you know of other volunteer groups who would like to assist please let me know.
Within our club, there are a small number that continue to do the heavy lifting for the PMM, and often volunteer and attend all of the Perth Makers Markets including doing the setup and breakdown. That will need to change in the next year, and we will be looking for others to step up and take some of the load – please let me know if you can help more. We also need each of our members to volunteer between 3-4 times per year for the PMM (unless we are effective in increasing our volunteer pool outside of Rotary).
For those who aren’t already aware, the dates of the Perth Makers Market for this year are 26th Feb, 9th April, 21st May, 24th Sept, 5th Nov, and 17th December. Please let me know of any dates when you are definitely unable to attend.
