Rotarians and family planted natives in the George Welby Bush Land in Bateman on Saturday.
The Rotary tree planting crew Ray and grandson, Clive, Riley, Kenn, Shauna, Lesley, Angelica, John, and Paul
Rotarian-in-training and Ray planted seedlings. The first hours were cool and dry.

Plenty of open ground and dry sandy soil.

Gordon and Kenn checking the seedlings and fertiliser supplies.

Kenn and Lesley getting the native trees into the ground.

Shauna and a future Rotarian enjoying the fresh air and variety of banksia.

Paul Higginson, manager of the City of Melville Bush Lands is sending off Ray and his landscaper to plant a big batch of trees.

Volunteering for the sausage sizzle might have been harder for the volunteers than planting the trees.

The hungry tree planters welcomed a little shelter and a hot lunch.

The rain bucketed down during lunch and made for a cozy, happy social gathering.
