Dear Applecross Rotarians.

A pruned board meeting was held yesterday to discuss where we go in this cloud of doom and gloom. The consensus was that we muster the strength of our club as representing the best of Rotary and our individual members.

Firstly make sure you care for yourselves and family, remembering that you are part of the Rotary family as well. Look out for the wellbeing of fellow club members and be pro active in offering support for our more vulnerable members. However you best communicate , DO IT, and keep it up. There will be immense suffering in our community for a long time to come and now is the time to show that you care by showing generosity and civility.

We will continue to have weekly news letters and I would urge you to look for positive stories to feed Ray for the AA. We will also look at some form of weekly electronic meeting as it is essential to keep us together as a group and hopefully provide guest speakers.

We will review the club’s financial situation, especially necessary as our income takes a hit. Partly depending on RI we will review annual fees to ensure we lose no members as a result of money worries.

It is essential that we continue with all our current projects and that responsible sub committees communicate as best they can. Projects needing finance may have to go on the back burner for the time being.

As the “club with a difference” we need to be a role model in our community by way of how we act individually and collectively and I would urge you to see how you can support the various” helping” agencies as well as businesses in our community. We all know what Rotary stands for and the opportunities for “doing good” will test our resources and capacity.

Yours in Rotary, President Barry
