Hope everyone has had a good week.

Last week's speaker was great and was able to pick up a few copies of his books that I will use as giveaways with the youth/vocational work we are doing.

Don’t forget this week's Melbourne Cup event, so be sure to invite partners and/or any family you might think will want to join us.

Melville Rotary Club have Supt Hatch who is the superintendent in charge of the TRG. He and his team deal with the members of our society who are generally quite menacing. That is Monday lunchtime at South of Perth Yacht Club.

We are still looking for more RYLA participants! Please keep an eye out for anyone you think would like to attend.

Hope everyone has an amazing week and looking forward to seeing everyone Tuesday morning.

WHERE ARE THE WILLIAMS?

Good question! They are currently on an 8day Mediterranean cruise that I believe finishes today.  The following photos were taken in Toledo and Segovia prior to travelling via fast train from Madrid to Barcelona to embark on their cruise. The emails from Kenn re the JacFest are slowing down as he settles into his holiday. Good news Peta!

RYLA 2023 Applications Open!

RYLA is an intensive eight-day program designed for 18-28 year olds with leadership potential and a commitment to community service. The program is a unique opportunity aimed to bring participants out of their comfort zone and challenge them to think outside the square while actively using and building on their existing skills and knowledge. RYLA includes seminars, workshops, physical activities and team games relating to areas including Communication and Public Speaking, Leadership, Team Work and Group Dynamics, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Goal Setting, Time Management and Self Awareness and Emotional Intelligence. All applications must include the name of their sponsoring Rotary Club, and we expect that applicants have contacted their local Rotary Club to arrange sponsorship prior to submitting the form.  The RYLA Committee will assist with this if necessary. Applicants are interviewed prior to acceptance onto RYLA.  Successful applicants will have the energy, commitment and motivation to develop their leadership potential and be willing to challenge themselves physically and mentally over the course of the program.   Please note: Applicants who have come to us via a Rotary Club will receive priority acceptance onto the program.

RYLA is held at the Serpentine Camping Centre from Saturday 7th January – Saturday 14th January 2023.

Rotary Club Sponsorship for a RYLA participant is $900, and the participant contribution is $250.  This includes all activities, accommodation and meals for the week.

The application form is available online - https://forms.gle/ZTss7QWJLtfTvt3t9 or click here to download a form.
