It is a fantastic community event and the entertainment was exceptional.
Perhaps this years’ event is best summarised by Peter Stone, Creative Producer Arts & Culture, City of Melville:
‘I'm not surprised to hear the heat effected the afternoon crowd. The first scorcher of summer always sends the crowds flocking to the beach. That’s unfortunate but of course completely beyond anyone's control.
I have still heard very positive anecdotal feedback from people who attended.
The City remains committed to this much loved community event. As you know sponsorship is already confirmed and in place for 2022 and before next year's event we will review and submit for funding for post 2022.”
A great endorsement from one of our major sponsors. We not only thank the City of Melville for their ongoing support but also our other ongoing major supporters in LotteryWest, Good Grocer, Mont Properties, Ross North Homes and Pharmacy’s 777.
But most of all, a special thank you to our Club members and partners, who willing give of their time to make this event a success, year after year. We also thank the volunteer groups who supported this event, including the Waylen Bay Sea Scouts, our cluster Rotary Clubs of Attadale and Booragoon, City of Melville staff, Manning Football and all the other volunteers that made this day special.
With the year winding down, there is still plenty to look forward to:
- 30 November – Evening meeting, Dr Mark Duncan-Smith, WA President AMA
- 9 December – AxR Christmas Lunch Rooftop Bar, East
- 14 December - Secret Santa (last meeting of 2021)
- 19 December - Perth Makers Market
- 18 January – Meetings resume (first meeting of 2022)
Tomorrow night’s evening meeting will be a joint one with the RC of Booragoon. We are looking forward to hearing from our guest speaker, Dr Mark Duncan-Smith, WA President AMA, who will no doubt cover some topical subjects.
