Our guests for last meeting were Jade and Gemma from Whale Watch Western Australia. Bruce Uren was the host for the meeting and summed up their presentation when emailing our thanks to them saying: "I extend a hearty thank you for a sensational presentation this morning. It was very professional & informative. For me, the highlight was the underwater photography. I felt that had we not needed to let people get off to work/other commitments we could have chatted for quite some time". Their family history goes back 6 generations and all have been associated with the waters of Australia through the pearling, crayfishing, fishing, tourism, transport and ferry industries. Today their primary focus is on whales, dolphins and porpoises of WA and provide world class education and viewing. Their tours depart from Fremantle, Bremer Bay and Augusta. We were shown some spectacular underwater and drone video that they have taken during their tours and that are available on their website. Their presentation is also available on our Applecross Rotary Members Facebook group. |
