PRESIDENT BARRY opened the meeting attended by 16 other members and our guest presenter Nadine Magill.

ABSENT FRIENDS: Hopefully Lesley Combes will be able to join us soon, Margaret and Mal Taylor are slowly recovering, and Helen Jones is in hospital with an infection (no, not COVID-19).

REPORTS:
Kenn Williams said it was too early to make a decision on JacFest 2020; Clive Pearson will organise collection of donated non-perishable food from members next month, and deliver it to Foodbank.  Ray Philp reminded us to keep collecting recyclable plastics for Greenbatch.

HAPPY DOLLARS:
Lots of people went to the wrong house for Ron Bower’s drive-past birthday and paid up for their embarrassment.
Andrew Bower reported about 20 cars were in the convoy that drove past the right house in Winthrop! Andrew has provided the family photo taken on Sunday and also a link to the video of the 'birthday drive past'.

Ronald did join this week's ZOOM meeting and could hear and see everyone, but could not make himself heard.  He has requested the following to be included in this weeks advocate:
"Thanks very much for joining the procession on 26/4/20 past 14 McGillivray Gardens Winthrop. It was a complete surprise, as may have been evidence from the bewildered expression on my face. I wanted to thank everyone in the course of this morning’s meeting, but having rendered myself effectively mute, I could not do so. Is there any possibility that you could mention in the bulletin that I am very grateful for the motorised turn-out past the end of my driveway on Sunday 26th April".

Peter McEwen paid up again to show how happy he was that Bernard Pang was still in the Master Chef competition, while John Kelly (42 years) and Ian Fairnie (36 years) are celebrating Rotary anniversaries next week.

CAMP QUALITY presentation by Nadine Magill
Our guest speaker this week was Nadine Magill who is the CEO of Camp Quality.

Nadine is a fundraising specialist, originally from Northern Island.  Her first job in Australia was raising funds for Camp Quality, then she worked on the capital campaign for the Ronald McDonald House in Nedlands, before returning to Camp Quality as a member of the National Leadership Team.

Cecil Aaron - Eulogy
Due to COVID 19 restrictions many of Cecil's Rotary friends were unable to attend his funeral.  Applecross Rotary was represented by Lorri Brazier, Kenn Williams and Ian Fairnie.  Lorri's entry into Cecil's funeral booklet perfectly decribed the impression Cecil  had on his fellow Applecross Rotary;  Rotarians, partners and friends.
"Even though my friendship with Cecil was for a short time he was one of nature’s gentlemen. He had a priceless sense of humour, and that twinkle in his eye and mischievous grin - he always made me laugh. I will miss him at Rotary. God Bless" Lorri Brazier

We thank Elizabeth for sharing information from Cecil's funeral.

The following is Cecil Aaron's Eulogy:
