I hope all members had a wonderful Easter with their families and friends.
Speaking of Easter, the Rotary family and volunteers were hard at work on Sunday at Perth Makers Market.
Magnificent weather brought out a huge crowd, and we were kept busy all day with our parking duties. A special thank you to all our Club members who assisted, ably supported by family and friends, and members of E-Club and Attadale Rotary.
Making a Difference
At last week’s meeting, I gave an update on how our Club is making a difference. To recap, we have made the following contributions or pledges.
1. Disaster Relief
Ukraine Rotary Relief - $5,000
Blazaid (WA Bushfire Relief) - $3,000
Flood Relief - $2,000
Shelter Box (targeted at Ukraine) - $2,000
2. International Health
Indian Sri Sathya Sai Hospital Project (GG) – $3,500
Kenyan Noonkopir Special Needs Unit (GG) - $5-10,000
3. Local Community
Guide Dogs WA - $2,000
Shirley Strickland Recognition Plaque - $1,500
Mount Henry Bridge Waterplay Element - $10,000. The donation was generously funded by John Henderson.
We should be proud of the contributions that our Club are making.
We look forward to hearing from our guest speaker Justin Back. Justin, who is the son of honorary member Chris, will speak on ANZAC Day, Rotary Exchange and Other Matters. Presentation starts 7.30am sharp.
