Kenn Williams picked up our new trailer from John Papas Trailers (50 years locally manufacturing trailers) that was built to the specifications designed by Kenn and Mal Taylor.  The new trailer will replace Kenn's trailer that the club has been using for a number of years to transport the significant amount of club property that we use for the Perth Makers Market and the Jacaranda Festival.  The trailer will also be used for other club projects such as transporting furniture for Starick clients and  will be a great asset for our new project with Greenbatch and the Container Deposit Scheme.  The new trailer is larger and has a mesh cage, tool box and ramps to assist with loading and unloading.  Signage will be able to attach to the mesh sides to promote Rotary's activities to the public and provide contact information for people interested in joining us.

The trailer just fits into Kenn's shed that also stores all of the other club property. The club is very appreciative for Kenn and Peta's significant donation of space and security at their storage unit.

The club was able to purchase the trailer following our successful application for a Volunteer Grant under the Families and Communities Program - Volunteer Grants Activity in 2019-2020.
The following is an exert from the letter we received when we were advised we had been successful:

"The Australian Government recognises the vital contribution of volunteers in strengthening and enriching our communities. This Grant will help your organisation support your volunteers to carry out their important work. In Australia, more than 8.7 million people volunteer each year, freely giving their time and skills to help others. Volunteers are an important part of the fabric of our society, whether it be helping out in times of disaster or crisis, or helping out in the school canteen, our museums and galleries, or supporting local sporting teams".

Through the efforts of Kenn and Mal, we are also able to upgrade our equipment that we use to connect our members to meetings via ZOOM with the remainder of the grant funds.
