Another year, another Art Exhibition!

Once again Melville Rotary and Applecross Rotary combine to present the Annual Art Show at Garden City. It's a big job to gather the stands from storage, deliver and set up in the main display area at the centre, then hang the paintings as the artists deliver them, let alone actually arranging and managing the exhibition itself.

Would you guess? Same old same old doing the heavy lifting yet again.

Setting up is quite a physical job, firstly loading the frames etc from the loading bay, then positioning and juggling the solid art frames into position into the slots on the stands. Always pleased when that job is done. Then comes the part of delivering the art and  loading up the frames to ensure that the various artists works are grouped and attractive to the crowds passing through the centre from Monday to Saturday this week.

After all, selling exhibits is what it is largely about!

Across the week, Applecross and Melville share the overseeing of the exhibition, recording sales etc and being generally helpful for prospective buyers. It really is a major commitment in logistical management, with at least 12 attending each day to fill the 2 hour slots from 7am til 7pm, and a great opportunity to showcase Rotary at work in the community.

Well done to Hamish and the Melville Rotary team led by James and Tracey-Anne for getting this all into shape yet again!
