Storage and PMM

Ray and I put in a couple of hours last week adding extra and larger security locks to our Good Grocer PMM provided storage on McCoy St.

Recently we had our 3rd 'inconvenience' break in at the unit, and this time some of our PMM mark-out assets were stolen. In reality, if you are looking for some cash to feed a drug habit, or whatever, there is absolutely NOTHING worth ready cash in store!! (We also had one of our Spinner tops stolen some time back)

However, it is the mess made that some mug, like me, has to clean up and sort out, or the replacement of assets that is the real inconvenience.

Hopefully the extra locks will deter would be miscreants .. fingers crossed!

On the subject of the upcoming Perth Makers Market, we do have a major disruption to our normal parking areas with the redevelopment works now underway on the Heathcote lowlands. Towards 50% of the area will be unavailable as it stands, with a new sealed car park on entry which will require additional volunteers.

Separate Overflow parking on the area normally available for Stall Holders will require extra planning, directions and support on the day. ( Stall holders will park at Jeff Joseph Reserve and have a shuttle bus to and from)

Given the changes, the Upper car park will certainly be under increased pressure, and traffic management directions for entry points off Duncraig Rd have been called for. We have no authority to direct road traffic, and see the additional complications as putting traffic and pedestrian safety at risk.

We have met with the team at PMM and they are well aware of the issues arising: issues that were not meant to be to  this degree from their discussions with the CoM and timing of the development.

MESSAGE: Be available for the Saturday set up/Sunday parking support/ asset return 5th and 6th September ... it will be an all hands on deck affair!
