Attadale Rotary's New Meeting Venue After a Club review, Attadale has selected the Swan Yacht Club as its new venue, along with a change of meeting night, now Wednesday, and which Peta and I attended last week. It was a really happy evening, with lots of competitions and fun, plenty of chatting and a great meal to boot. John Sharpe, as President, is keen to work in with other cluster Clubs, and we could do worse than plan for a joint meeting with them after new year. Attadale are strong supporters of our Jacaranda Festival as a manpower resource on the day. Attadale Rotary President John Sharpe with Peta Williams SOME JACFEST UPDATES. * Our Lottery West Grant was approved last Wed and we now await City of Melville stated Covid Event Approval for the Grant to be released. Thanks George for seeing the application process through again. * Our regular SUNDOWNER on Thursday, 30th September at MLA Kim Giddens Electorate Office in Applecross is intended to have small business in the Village hear of plans for our 21st JacFest, and give them an appreciation for the work that goes into this annual street festival showcasing their shopping strip. It will be great to have a good turn up of Members and friends, so more info will follow. * We plan for JacFest 21 to be a truly ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY event, with GO2CUPS providing re-usable meal setting equipment for the food zone and take away coffee, and the City of Melville providing a Grant of almost $3000 to support this, plus FOGO bins with volunteers to help those attending make better re-usable, recyclable, FOGO and general rubbish decisions. All good news in terms of our JacFest setting standards for future community events. |
