Welcome to our newest members Brett Hamel and Cindy Wiese.  Cindy was inducted in early April as an Associate member and since decided to become an ACTIVE member of Rotary. Membership Director and President-elect Peter McEwen officiated in his first membership induction.

 

Peter McEwen and myself attended the District Assembly on Sunday.  There was a good attendance from all of the metro clubs and the information sessions were informative and very well delivered.  Peter took the opportunity to promote our 50th Anniversary/ Changeover 2021 party to the other attendees with some promising interest.  

 

 

Incoming DG Pat Schraven gave an excellent presentation introducing the District Team and Goals for the incoming Rotary year.  Prior to Pat speaking,  the video  of the 2021-22 RI Rotary President Shekhar Mehta introducing his theme for the year "Serve to Change Lives" was played.  Well worth a look.

 

Thanks to Gordon and Di Dunbar for hosting the monthly Sundowner last Thursday.  The weather was perfect with an enjoyable evening on the balcony overlooking the river.

Our guest speaker at last weeks meeting was Dr Rick Fenny, star of  the TV show 'Desert Vet'.  Rick took us through his early childhood and how growing up in Albany and his first red dog PIP influenced his life in becoming a veterinary surgeon.
