Our sister club, Kenwick Rotary took the history of engaging business owners and managers and modernised it. On Wednesday 11 July 2018, the Kenwick Rotarians hosted a business networking for potential new members and local Rotary Clubs. If you are wondering, the origins of Rotary started with business owners. The name, "Rotary" goes back to rotating meetings between Rotarian's businesses. Applecross Rotary Club was represented by President Ian Fairnie, Helen Fairnie-Jones, Ray Philp, Shauna Kinney, Manik Pujara, and Kenn Williams. John Stockbridge from the host club promoted Rotary as both a service organisation and an asset to our community. Several businesses in attendance included a plumber, a building repair services company, accountants, coaches, and recruiters. Attendees were a mix of business owners and employed managers. The range of ages spanned from early career to people in their second careers (Rotarians don't want to retire, as John mentioned in his presentation).

The theme was service in the community brings together a healthy business. If you feel like you fit in this environment, talk to us about our Shark Tank and Vocational Service projects.
